PHP OpenID php problems

Sorry I think I'm confused, maybe you can check me on this:

Are the example server provided with the library and the 'Standalone
Server' [1] two seperate products?  If so then that's cool, because
the standalone server will continue to be maintained as a
'extract-configure-and-go' download.  I'm happy that an example server
in the library download is teenie-tiny and very simple with no backend
support.
