I'm inclined to agree, but I can definitely think of a case where
someone might want to see what the development community is like
before getting involved, even if that means getting a personal OpenID.

At any rate, I'm pretty sure that is a bug in the OpenID code in
mailman.  (Dag?  Do you think you could poke at it and adjust the form
processing so it doesn't require an OpenID?)
